Ira Applebaum

Dr. Ira Robin Applebaum - Passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026 in the afternoon after a major heart attack. Ira retired as a full-time Principal at Sheppard Public School and most recently worked as a substitute Principal at CD Farquharson Public School in addition to tutoring Israeli students and other volunteer work. Ira shared a deep love with his wife Evy; his sons Mark and Jordan, his daughter-in-law Shelley, grandkids Evan, Alexis, and Kaila; his late parents Jean and Lewis, and late in-laws Robert and Evelyn Clarkson, dear brother and brother-in-law of Ray and Ellace and Lily and the late Stephen Applebaum. Ira was a life long learner. After graduating from University and teachers college he went on to complete his Masters in Education while working full-time as a teacher, and he lovingly cared for his mother Jean, taking a pause from his studies, and later completed his Doctorate of Education.
