Life & Legacy
KIRSH, Eva - It is with profound heartbreak that we announce the passing of our mother Eva Kirsh on Sunday March 22, 2026 at age 77 following a brief yet aggressive disease which she faced with immense determination, strength, courage, and calmness. Eva was born May 24, 1948 in Kosice, Slovakia and came to Canada on a ship with her parents and older sister (Sylvia) when Eva was 6 months old. Her brother (Richard) was born later in Toronto. She lived her life with much strength and determination to make sure she could create a life on her own and later for her 2 daughters (Elana & Shaila), just like her parents did when they came to Canada after WW2. There are not many mothers like Eva. Telling her kids daily she loved them, always making sure they were ok no matter what, she was the kindest human being, always trying to take care of others, and gave the best advice. Sharp as a whip with her math skills, amazing business sense, and in later years easily learned a multitude of intellectual games such ask Bridge, Mahjong, Chess, Cards, Rummikub. She was in dental hygiene for 4 months, then decided being a teacher would be a better fit, and later moved into her passion career selling commercial and residential real estate until the day she passed. Eva was an active member of TRREB, celebrating her 50-Year Milestone in 2024! A lover of music, the piano, education, and Jewish culture. An avid cook, aerobics and water aerobics queen, later becoming a lover of golf, a mover and a shaker! Engaged in Israel and shortly after married for many years to the late Sheldon Kirsh (passing in 1998). Over 25 year partner to the late Gerald Gringorten (passing in 2012). And, over 10 year companion to Ernie Weinerman. Daughter of the late Larry and Margaret Andreansky. Devoted and most thoughtful sister to Sylvia Charles (Michael Charles), and brother Richard Andreansky and his wife Tammy Hermant. Adoring mother in-law to Adam Silverberg and Jamie Schwartz. Dearest Bubie to Ethan & Rachel Silverberg, and William & Charlie Schwartz. Wonderful aunt, an honest and kind friend to so many, and above all, a selfless mother to Elana Silverberg and Shaila Schwartz. Her physical presence will never be replaced, but she will be thought of daily by so many. Memorial donations may be made to the Toronto Holocaust Museum: https://bit.ly/4uP50Kw
