Ray Mendell

MENDELL, Ray - On Wednesday, July 22, 2026. Ray Mendell, adored husband of Eddie. Cherished father and father-in-law of Paul Mendell and Marilyn Levine, and Ruth Mendell. Devoted grandfather of Stefanie and Ryan, Jamie and Veronica, Jesse and Lisa, Marlee, and Elan. Amazing great-grandfather of Tyler, Lyla, and Lucas. Ray not only just celebrated his 90th birthday, but he and Eddie just reached their 69th wedding anniversary. They enjoyed travelling to many different places around the world together, their favourite place being South of France. Their love and respect for each other was truly magical. He was a phenomenal father to Ruth and Paul, and an amazing Papa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Apart from Eddie, his loves were tennis, water and snow skiing, and anything to do with the water. He moved from boat manufacturing in Wales to car sales in Canada where he developed many great friends during his 37 years at Roy Foss. For many years, he was the top Cadillac salesperson in Canada. Ray was not only a true gentleman, but a gentle man. We already miss him like crazy and he will forever be in our hearts. We want to give a huge thank you to Shayne, who helped us take care of Dad these last months, and who he adores. Also, there are no words to describe the love, care and support we received over the last month from the Palliative Care Team at MRHH. They are a team of angels.
