Peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, November 2, 2026 in his ninety-seventh year. Beloved husband of Elaine Tarshis for sixty-eight years. Cherished father and father-in-law of David Podbere, Burt Podbere and Donna Segal. Son of the late Hymie and the late Anne Podbere. Adoring Grandpa of Indiana, and Callie Podbere. Loving brother and brother-in-law of Faigi and the late Irwin Rosenthal; and brother-in-law of the late Selma and the late Pat Cooper, the late Henry Tarshis; Esmond and Diane Druker, the late Faye and the late Allen Applebaum. Proud uncle of Stephen Rosenthal, Barbara Rosenthal and Dylan Foley, Mark and Michele Cooper, Jeff and Marcia Cooper, Beth and Darrel Flick; Michelle and Paul Gorenberg, Conrad and Amy Druker, Steven Druker; Cheryl and Alan Gorski, Michael and Marianne Applebaum. He had a special affection for his great nieces Sophie, and Rose Foley, and will be missed by his other great nieces and great nephews, and by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to acknowledge with sincere gratitude his caregivers Josie, Gloria, and Sunny for their devotion and compassionate care. Funeral service from Paperman and Sons on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Burial at the Temple Emanu-El Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield.
