Carl Ritchie

RITCHIE, Carl - With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Carl Meyer Ritchie, who died peacefully on February 27, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on April 15, 1932, in Toronto, Carl lived a long and meaningful life defined by perseverance, resilience, and warmth. He approached life's challenges with quiet strength and dignity, and he met its blessings with gratitude and humility. Carl was the loving husband of over 70 years to Judy Ritchie, and a devoted father to Lisa Ritchie and David Carroll, and Larry Ritchie and Heather Crawford. He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Lauren and Zach, Jamie and Zach, Oscar and Jenni, Jeffrey and Hannah, Isaac and Emily, Gabriel, Jacob, and great- grandfather to Ben and Rebecca. Known lovingly as "Papa" to his family and friends, his greatest joy was simply being together with those he loved. Time spent around the table, sharing stories and laughter, brought him deep happiness. Kind and friendly to all, Carl had a gentle presence and an open heart. He will be remembered for his steady devotion to family, his generous spirit, and the warmth he extended so freely to others. His legacy lives on in the generations he nurtured and in the love that surrounds his memory. We are thankful for the exceptional care given to Carl by many including the staff at The Dunfield Retirement Residence and at Home Instead.
