SOUDACK, Sigmund - With great sadness regretfully we announce the passing of our beloved Sigmund Soudack May 30, 2025 in his 89th year. Devoted husband to Linda and a loving father to Ilan (Mindy) and Michael proud grandpa to Ryan, Lauren and Jayme beloved brother to Elsa Silber, Oscar Zaretzky (Ruthie) and sister-in-law Joy Cherry Weinberg. Siggy was the youngest of 3 children born to Israel and Bronya Zylber in the Ukraine who were tragically killed during the holocaust. In 1948 Siggy was adopted by George and Mollie Soudack of Winnipeg who already had 3 of their own children Pearl, Avrum, and Ruthie. Raised by the Soudack's he graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Civil Engineering. Siggy founded Sigmund Soudack and Associates, one of Canada's leading structural engineering firms. Siggy was committed to justice, human rights and holocaust education. His dedication to philanthropy, Israel, Zionism, the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and numerous charities continues to inspire his family, friends and business associates.
