Darrell Day With deep sadness we announce the passing of Darrell Day on April 2, just shy of his 82nd birthday. He died after living with Alzheimer's disease for over 15 years, though that is not how he will be remembered. For anyone who knew Darrell, what stood out most was his zest for life, love of adventure, and kind soul. His storytelling was legendary, full of the triumphs and mishaps of his many escapades. Whether flying his small plane, sailing around Lake Ontario, or scuba diving in exotic locales, he was always up for an adventure, especially if there were friends or family along to share in the fun. Inventive in solving life's problems, large or small, Darrell could be counted on for equally creative solutions to getting one out of a jam or to starting a new and successful business. With his wife Rhona, Darrell ran an interior decorating superstore for 35 years, and he was beloved by customers and employees. Darrell made friends wherever he went and will be missed by many. He is survived by Rhona Day, his wife of 56 years, his children Kyla Day (married to Anthony Maragna) and Amber Day (married to Patrick McEvoy), as well as his grandchildren Auden and Lira McEvoy.
