Brenda Leavens

LEAVENS, Brenda - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Leavens on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. She died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. Brenda faced her brief illness the way she faced everything in life; with quiet grace and unwavering strength. Beloved wife of the late Gerry. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Ed and Lisa Leavens, and Andrea Wynn and Les Wynn. Dear sister and sister-in-law of David and Linda Kreaden, Alan and Trish Leavens, and the late Rochelle Bolter. Devoted Nana of Josh and Stephanie, Daniel and Tasha, Matthew and Carly, Samantha, Jordyn and Aaron, Jillian, and Allie. Proud Great-Nana of Isabel and Jack. She will be missed by Paul Custoreri. A special heartfelt thank you to Josie, whose kind and loving care brought comfort and dignity to our mother in her final months. A teacher at heart, Brenda loved her work and the students whose lives she touched over the years. For her, the classroom was never just a job. Her happiest hours were spent at the cottage on Lake Simcoe, the place she loved most and returned to every summer. An avid walker, she set out for hours every day, in every season, a quiet and steady habit that said everything about her: disciplined, content, and at peace in her own company and in the world around her. An avid reader, lover of politics, her full social calendar, and her beloved Blue Jays. She was always upbeat, always up for a good time, and tackled every problem head on. She was deeply loved by all who knew her, and she will be profoundly missed. Donations may be made to the Hennick Humber Hospital Foundation, 416-242-1000, https://www.hrhfoundation.ca/
