Miriam Friedman

Miriam Friedman passed away on June 20th, 2026. Her pursuit of a life of happiness, peace and learning was unfortunately cut short much too soon. Miriam was born in Toronto on January 27, 1967 to Dany Friedman and Dina Charney - their first child. She is survived by her father, and by her brothers David and Adam. She will be deeply missed by her cherished nieces Olivia and Mia. Miriam grew up with a passion for social justice, including LGBTQ+ rights, rooted in secular Jewish principles and ethics. She pursued studies in social work, worked with the homeless, and dove into Yiddish studies up until her passing. A self-professed culture nerd with a love for the theatre and arts equalled only by her love for her dog Rufus, Miriam had a sharp, curious mind and a thirst for knowledge.
