Life & Legacy
SHOSTACK, Judith - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judi Shostack, who died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, at the age of 71. Beloved mother of Alana and Jeremy, cherished mother-in-law of Bianca, and treasured Bubby to her true joy, Milo. Judi is also survived by her sisters, Hannah and Naomi. Judi walked through life with a style that was uniquely her own. She was known for her signature cobalt blue, her funky glasses, her love for classic rock music, and her boundless energy. She lived life fully and with remarkable spirit. Judi loved travelling the world and had a deep and enduring love for Israel. Being there brought her immense joy, connection, and pride; it was a place where she felt rooted in history, community, and belonging. Judi cared deeply about her friends, her family, and the larger Jewish community, generously supporting numerous causes close to her heart, including the Jerusalem Foundation, Ben-Gurion University and the Toronto Heschel School. Judi retired in 2024 after a long and successful career serving the public with dedication. She was respected by her colleagues as a knowledgeable and effective counsel for the Province of Ontario and was a proud graduate of Brandeis University. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and by the many lives she touched with her warmth, generosity, and unmistakable spirit. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Beth Tzedec Memorial Park.
